At current state, this is just a test note for checking hugo capability and using Obsidian-like backlings. I am learning Colemak since the beginning of [[2026]] The main motivation was [[The Primeagen]] talking about [[Touch Typing]] to be essential and [[Tim Ferris]] in his book [[Tools of Titans]] talking with Matt of Automattic that [[Colemak]] is the best layout. Thus, if I am learning touch typing then correctly and once and for all. Also I disliked my error rate with hunt and peck typing which was really annoying during focused coding lessons I also bought my [[Keychron Q11]] split mechanical keyboard end of march and it arrived mid April The keyboard changed everything: beginning was hard but the split layout is very posture friendly and ergonomic for my [[Keyboard first approach]] incl. starting using/learning [[vim]] at the same time but the real magic is QMK/VIA: I can program my keyboard! I can do whatever I want and costumize it to my liking. I can make it mine! I use [[Vim Motions]] everywhere I can and code to 100% in [[Python]] thus I wanted to optimize my keyboard to get the best experience and improve ergonomics The goal is to never leave the keyboard my current keyboard layout has 3 layers for my colemak typing and a forth default qwerty for [[Gaming]]. it is the result of some iterations over weeks or months L0: default typing layer; access L1 via right fn and L3 via long pressing right space ![[Pasted image 20260911233043.png]] L1: programming layer; all frequently used symbols symmetrical at home row (inspired by [[The Primeagen]]) as well as vim hjkl for non vim apps ![[Pasted image 20260911233114.png]] L2: QWERTY L3: German Umlaute on corresponding chars ![[Pasted image 20260911233357.png]]
